Application for the 5th edition of Innovation Award Bluepharma | University of Coimbra opens in January

Applications open from 12th January to 7th March, 2022.

Innovation Award Bluepharma | Universidade de Coimbra is back, the initiative that takes place every two years. The period of application starts on 12th January and ends on 7th March.

The award gathering Bluepharma and the University of Coimbra intends to distinguish scientific projects in the Health Sciences area. The application is open to Portuguese Researchers from National or Foreign laboratories, institutes and organizations, who develop innovative scientific projects, as individuals or partnership. The applicant projects are assessed based on merit, originality and innovation, as well as their contribution and potentially transformation into products or services with proven relevance to society.

The winning project will be awarded a prize of 20,000 euros, which may also receive an additional investment of 30,000 euros, once its viability in the market has been proven. Applications are presented and submitted using the form available on the official website of this award, at www.bluepharmaucinnovationaward.pt.

Therefore, at Bluepharma we seek to promote and encourage this spirit of excellence through the creation of these sort of initiatives. Knowing that academies have a fundamental role, having the University of Coimbra as a partner reinforces the rigor and quality of yet another edition", says Paulo Barradas Rebelo, President of Bluepharma.

"This 5th edition is proof that the University of Coimbra and Bluepharma have been continuously working together to promote Research and Innovation within the entire community, supporting researchers' projects, which are fundamental for scientific development in the most diverse areas". Luís Simões da Silva, Vice-Rector of the University of Coimbra for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, also reinforces the importance of aggregating quality critical mass in the Health Area, which is increasingly crucial.
