Bluepharma | University of Coimbra Innovation Award with applications open until 15th March.

Bluepharma and the University of Coimbra are joining forces once again to recognise scientific research excellence at an international level. Applications for the Bluepharma | University of Coimbra Innovation Award are open from 12 January to 15 March.

This international award, worth €20,000, aims to recognise the best scientific projects developed in the field of Health Sciences. This support could translate into an additional investment of €30,000, once the market viability of the project has been proven.

The projects submitted for consideration must be conducted wholly or partly by Portuguese researchers, at national or foreign institutions.

The award's evaluation criteria are: merit, originality, innovation, and the contribution of scientific projects with high potential for transformation into products or services that are of real interest to society.

Applications are open between 12 January and 15 March 2026 and must be submitted via the official Innovation Award website

The Bluepharma | University of Coimbra Innovation Award is presented every two years to an innovative project in the field of Health Sciences.

The winner will be announced in May 2026.
