Innovation Award Bluepharma | University of Coimbra is attributed every 2 years to an innovative research project in Health Sciences area, in accordance with the terms and conditions described in the application guidelines.


Application Guidelines


Application is open to Portuguese Researchers from National or Foreign laboratories, institutes and organizations developing innovative research projects in Health Sciences. Research projects may engage groups from more than one institution.


The Innovation Award Bluepharma | University of Coimbra consists of a prize of €20.000 to fund a proof of concept project. Following the proof of concept, if the promoters are interested in the creation of a spin-off company based on the project, Bluepharma may decide to invest up to €30.000, depending on the project’s merit and market viability.


January 12th to
April 11th 2022

The award is open for applications from January 12th to April 11th 2022. The application form may be filled out in Portuguese or in English and is available in restrict applicant area.


The following documents are required in order to complete the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae of the candidate(s) involved in the project (2 pages maximum each);
  • Declaration that must include acceptance to participate in all events related with the award attribution, acceptance of the award application guidelines and disclosure of any financial support granted to the project (1);
  • Declaration nominating the group representative signed by all candidates (1);
  • Declaration form of the legal representative of the institute(s) or organization(s) where the work has been performed authorizing the submission of the project to the Bluepharma | University of Coimbra Award (1).
