The application phase for the Bluepharma Innovation Award | University of Coimbra — initially open until 15 March — has been extended until 10 May 2026.

This international award, worth €20,000, aims to recognize the best scientific projects developed in the field of Health Sciences. This support may translate into an additional investment of €30,000 once the project's market viability has been demonstrated.

The submitted works must be totally or partially led by Portuguese researchers and may be developed in national or international institutions. The evaluation criteria for the award include merit, originality, innovation, and the contribution of scientific projects with a high potential for transformation into products or services with real interest for society.

This award is granted every two years.
